From St. Paul's Hill, we moved on descending to see the Portuguese Fort : A Fomosa, also known as Porta de Santiago. The fortress was built on the orders of Commander Albuquerque.
Now only that small gate of fortress left was left.
Continuing our walk from Christ Church, we went to St. Paul's Church, another historical building di Malacca at the summit of St. Paul's Hill. It was originally built by the Portuguese.
A statue of St. Francis Xavier greeted us when we got on top of the stairs. A large tree fell on the statue severing its right arm.
Now only the walls remain of the Church and some tombstones there.
This massive red building displays all the common features of the Dutch colonial architecture which includes substantial solid doors and windows. Called Red Squared because all the surrounding building painted red, next to the Malacca River.
